Spring is Springing and along come April Showers

It’s that time of year when the spring garden is truly springing into bloom. Our garden is currently dotted with masses of purples from grape hyacinth (Muscari) and sweet violets, yellows of daffodils and whites of cherry blossom and a particular favourite, Baby’s Breath Spirea (Spirea thunbergii) which smells divine and has exquisitely rich blooms. Many of our tulips are also coming into bloom giving bright yellows, reds and pinks.

We are still learning as gardeners and I love to obtain inspiration from others. Really enjoying 15 Minute of Green’s blog (Blog - 15 minutes of green) which has lots of quick top tips and jobs to do in March (we are a little behind!). I’m keen to have a cut flower patch this year as I enjoy having flowers inside the house as well as in the garden. I’ve been looking at Sarah Raven for her top tips on producing a good cutting patch: Growing a Hardy Annual Cutting Patch | Sarah Raven

We have also recently had a big renovation done to our house and the outside looks a bit of a mess - the next project will be to re-landscape the outside so I’ve been looking at Blog | Landscaping News | ALS Landscaping Lincoln and homepage - Katherine Lee Garden Design for inspiration.
